Volunteers are members of our Halton communities who wish to make a difference. We recognize and truly appreciate the contributions of all of our volunteers, whether they work directly with adult learners, sit on our Board of Directors, or help organize a special FUNdraising event. Volunteers are integral to our LNH Adult Learning Centre program and service offering, and contribute positively to adult learner goal achievement.

Volunteer tutors facilitate small group (4-6 learners) classes for an 8 week session. Sessions are held in the fall, winter and spring. Classes are 3 hours once per week on the following days and times:
Volunteer tutors are matched 1:1 with learners continuously from September through to July. Tutoring sessions are 3 hours once per week for a 12-15 week session. Daytime and evening classes are available.
Adults who have completed a minimum of high school level education who wish to help another adult improve their literacy skills up to grade 9 level for employment, further education or training, and increased independence.
A minimum of 3 hours once per week for a minimum of 6 months to one year.
